Dr. Johan Dahlén is an Associate Professor (Docent) at the Department of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (IFM) at Linköping University. His research focuses on forensic chemistry, analytical toxicology, and the application of advanced analytical techniques in solving complex criminal investigations. He leads projects involving drug metabolism studies, biomarker analysis for early disease detection, and the development of methodology for forensic chemical analysis.
Recent work includes groundbreaking studies on synthetic cannabinoid metabolism using in vitro human hepatocyte models, as well as pioneering efforts to apply AI-driven analyses to forensic case resolution. He received significant funding (SEK 13 million) from the Swedish Research Council for a multi-institutional project combining detailed analytical methods with artificial intelligence to improve murder and poisoning case investigations.
