معرفی
Johan Bengtsson-Palme is a researcher at the Institute of Biomedicine, University of Gothenburg. His work focuses on microbiology, microbial ecology, antibiotic resistance, and bacterial interactions. He completed his PhD in 2016 and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Currently, he coordinates the EMBARK project and leads the Bengtsson-Palme Lab. His research addresses three core areas: mechanisms of antibiotic resistance development, factors contributing to bacterial pathogenicity, and the ecological consequences of disrupting microbial interactions.
- Education: PhD in Biomedicine (2016), Postdoctoral studies (2017–2018).
- Funding: Supported by Sahlgrenska Academy, Swedish Research Council, JPI-AMR, SIDA, and others.
- Awards: Lennart Sparell Prize (2019), Sahlgrenska Academy Prize (2020), FEMS Microbiology Prize (2020).
His interdisciplinary collaborations include the Centre for Antibiotic Resistance Research (CARe) and partnerships with institutions like Sahlgrenska University Hospital. Research emphasizes environmental and clinical impacts of antibiotic resistance, leveraging bioinformatics and ecological perspectives.
