معرفی
Joey Rodriguez is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at Michigan State University (MSU), focusing on exoplanet formation and evolution through observations from NASA's TESS, Kepler, and K2 missions. His research also explores disk eclipsing systems and circumstellar disks using ALMA data.
Education:
- B.S. in Astrophysics and Psychology (2010), Rutgers University
- M.S. in Applied and Engineering Physics (2012), George Mason University
- Ph.D. in Physics (2016), Vanderbilt University
Research Interests: Rodriguez investigates how planets form and evolve by studying exoplanet systems and their protoplanetary disks. His work combines space-based and ground-based observations to analyze disk architecture and planetary dynamics. Special focus areas include eclipsing disk events and their implications for planetary building blocks.
Professional History: Before joining MSU (2021), he was a Future Faculty Leaders Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University (2016–2019) and an Astronomer at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (2019–2020).
Labs/Teams: Active in the Vanderbilt Astronomy Group, Exoplanets at CfA | Harvard & Smithsonian, and the MSU Astronomy Department.
