Joel Tauber is a Professor at Wake Forest University, where he teaches Filmmaking and Video Art. A conceptual artist and filmmaker, he draws from his rigorous background in Jewish philosophy and law, combined with formal training at Yale University (studying under Ronald Jones) and ArtCenter College of Design (studying under Mike Kelley). His practice integrates activism, discourse, and interdisciplinary projects such as films, installations, and public interventions.

Tauber’s work explores themes of environmentalism, mysticism, and cultural memory through projects like UNDERWATER and Razor-Sharp: When Arguing Is A Good Thing. His installations often blend music, performance, and technology, shown internationally at venues including the Orange County Museum of Art, Christine König Galerie, and Susanne Vielmetter Los Angeles Projects.
