Joel Peckham is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at Marshall University, where he also serves as the Coordinator of Undergraduate Programs. A poet, essayist, and scholar, he has published eleven collections of poetry and nonfiction, including Any Moonwalker Can Tell You: New and Selected Poems and the monograph Outraged and Amazed: Transgressing the South in Faulkner’s Absalom, Absalom! (Cambridge Scholars, 2018).

Research Interests:
His scholarly work spans Southern Literature, American Literature, British Romanticism, and American Transcendentalism. He is deeply engaged with Contemporary Poetry and Appalachian Literature, exploring themes through Gender Studies, Psychoanalytic Theory, Narratology, Post-Colonial Theory, and Poststructuralism and Discourse Theory.
His creative and critical writings have appeared in leading journals such as Texas Studies in Literature and Language, American Literature, The Midwest Quarterly, and The Southern Literary Journal.
