Joel Farley

Joel Farley, PhD serves as Professor and Interim Department Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Care & Health Systems at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy. He also holds the prestigious Peters Endowed Chair in Pharmacy Practice Innovation and serves as Director of Graduate Studies in Social and Administrative Pharmacy.

Dr. Farley's research focuses on medication adherence, medication therapy management, and healthcare systems with particular emphasis on Medicare and Medicaid populations. His work addresses critical issues in geriatric pharmacology, diabetes management, and comprehensive medication review systems. His research portfolio demonstrates strong alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being.

His recent publications reveal a strategic focus on medication management for patients with cancer and chronic conditions, polypharmacy in elderly populations with dementia, Medicare Star Rating measures, and integration of pharmacists into transitions of care.
