Joe Sanders is a Professor in the Department of Art at Columbus State University, where he has been a transformative figure in studio arts, particularly in printmaking and book arts. He previously held leadership roles at the University of Georgia and Florida State University, contributing significantly to academic art programs and facilities.
His educational background includes a BFA from Florida State University and an MFA from Arizona State University.
Joe Sanders' research and creative practice centers on printmaking, handmade paper, and the intersection of art with science and technology. He explores the printed surface as a bridge between media such as sculpture, books, and digital forms. He has been involved in major interdisciplinary initiatives and facilities development, including CSU Pasaquan, Animation and Graphic Design programs, and the Small Craft Advisory Press.
