Dr. Joe Rigby is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology and Political Ecology at the University of Chester's Department of Social and Political Sciences. His research examines migration dynamics, racism/anti-racism frameworks, and the socio-environmental history of British imperialism, with current EU-funded work on species recovery and river restoration in South Cumbria.
Additional projects include community engagement with Kendal Museum's wildlife gallery reimagining and collaborative research on Chester's connections to the transatlantic slave trade.
