Joe Nandhakumar is a Professor of Information Systems at Warwick Business School, University of Warwick. He holds visiting faculty positions at the University of California Irvine and Georgia State University. His research focuses on digital technology's impact on work and organizational interactions, with emphasis on digital innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and practice theory. He leads an IUK-funded project on AI in litigation and previously managed ESRC-funded studies on digital innovation ecosystems.
Education: PhD in Management Information Systems from the University of Cambridge, Department of Engineering. Former faculty roles include University of Bath and University of Southampton.
Research Interests: Design of information systems, virtual teams, digital entrepreneurship, and practice theory. His work explores how digital technologies reshape organizational structures and innovation processes.
Teaching Modules: Digital Business Strategy, Knowledge and Work and Innovation, as well as several MSc courses including Digital Business Services and Research Methods.
Grants: Principal investigator on ESRC-funded projects on digital innovation and an IUK-funded AI litigation project. Former editorial roles include Associate Editor for Information Systems Research and Senior Editor for Journal of the Association for Information Systems.
Labs/Teams: Leads the ISM-Analytics (ISMA) Group at Warwick Business School, focusing on interdisciplinary digital innovation research.
