Joe Loehr

Joe Loehr serves as Associate Professor of Mass Media Communication and Composition and Literature at Pennsylvania College of Technology since 2009, continuing his academic tenure that began in 1993. He concurrently holds an Adjunct Instructor position at The Pennsylvania State University's School of Continuing Education.

His educational foundation includes:

• Bachelor of Arts in English and Philosophy (double major) from University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana (1974)
• Master of Arts in English from University of Maine at Orono (1977) with thesis on Ezra Pound criticism
• 60 credit hours of post-Master's coursework in Speech Communication and Workforce Education at Penn State (1996–present)

Loehr's academic focus integrates Mass Media Communication with Composition and Rhetoric, evidenced by his teaching of Technical and Professional Communication, Advanced Technical Communication, and Principles of Advertising. His interdisciplinary approach bridges Literary Criticism with practical media studies through courses like Introduction to Cinema and Fundamentals of Speech, while maintaining philosophical depth via Ethics and Introduction to Philosophy instruction.
