Overview
Joseph Dumit is Chair of the Institute for Social Sciences and Performance Studies at the University of California, Davis, holding dual appointments as Professor of Anthropology and Science and Technology Studies. His work bridges medical anthropology, STS, and performance studies with a focus on pharmaceutical marketing, neuroscientific imaging, gaming, and immersive visualization technologies. Dumit's research critically examines how knowledge systems shape human experiences of health, identity, and technology.
