Jody Mashinter is the Exercise Science Program Director and Assistant Professor at the University of Charleston. She teaches in the Athletic Training Program and oversees clinical education. Her academic background includes a B.S. in Sports and Exercise Science from the University of Northern Colorado (2005) and an M.S. in Sports Medicine from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (2007).
Her career spans roles at Bethany College (KS), where she progressed from Assistant Athletic Trainer (2007) to Head Athletic Trainer (2009), then Clinical Education Instructor and Associate Head Athletic Trainer (2013). She has managed healthcare for 21 NAIA teams, focusing on football, men’s basketball, soccer, softball, and baseball.
Her research and professional interests align with clinical athletic training, sports medicine, and education in exercise science. She is certified by the NATA and BOCATC, and maintains involvement with the American Red Cross as a lifeguard and water safety instructor.
