Jody Guinn

Jody Guinn serves as Lecturer of Harp at Baldwin Wallace University's Conservatory of Performing Arts while maintaining concurrent faculty positions at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland Institute of Music Preparatory Department, Cleveland State University, and Westminster College. She holds principal harpist roles with the Akron Symphony Orchestra since 1984 and serves as second harp in the Cleveland Orchestra, performing at venues including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Kennedy Center.

Her academic credentials include:

• Master of Music in Harp Performance from Cleveland Institute of Music (studied under Alice Chalifoux)

Ms. Guinn's professional work spans orchestral performance, chamber music, and pedagogy. She has recorded with the Cleveland Orchestra (Decca label) and Cincinnati Symphony (Telarc label), performed under conductors like Pierre Boulez and Franz Welser-Most, and collaborated with artists ranging from the Three Tenors to Ray Charles. Her educational focus emphasizes harp technique across diverse age groups.

As co-founder of the Salzedo Harp Duo with Nancy Lendrim, she has released the album "Short Stories" (Azica Records), performed at World Harp Congress events, and had recordings featured on CBS's "The Young and the Restless". Her teaching encompasses approximately 30 students aged 6–79 across multiple institutions using a Lyon and Healy Style 23 Concert Grand harp.
