معرفی
Prof. Jodie Rummer is a Professor of Marine Biology at James Cook University (JCU), specializing in fish physiology and climate change impacts. She leads the RummerLab and the Physioshark project, focusing on coral reef and shark conservation. Her work bridges physiology, ecology, and evolution to address anthropogenic stressors on marine life.
Education:
- PhD in Zoology, University of British Columbia (2010)
- MSc in Biology, University of West Florida (2004)
- BSc (Honours) in Marine Biology, University of West Florida (1999)
Research Interests: Investigates physiological adaptations of marine organisms to environmental stressors like temperature, ocean acidification, and hypoxia. Key areas include climate change resilience in sharks, coral reef fish performance, and conservation physiology. Collaborates globally, including in French Polynesia and the Great Barrier Reef.
Publications & Awards: Over 150 peer-reviewed papers, with an h-index of 45. Notable awards include the UNESCO-L'Oréal Women in Science Fellowship and the Society for Experimental Biology's President's Medal. Her work informs conservation policies and UNESCO initiatives.
Awards & Grants: ARC Early Career Discovery Fellow (DECRA), Vice President of the Australian Coral Reef Society, and editorial roles in major journals. Advocates for academic freedom and science communication.
Labs & Teams: RummerLab and Physioshark focus on field and lab-based research in French Polynesia and the Great Barrier Reef. Collaborates with institutions like CRIOBE and the ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies.
