Jodie L. Rummer is an Associate Professor at James Cook University (JCU), specializing in Conservation Physiology with a focus on marine organisms' physiological responses to environmental stressors. Her research emphasizes the impacts of climate change on coral reef ecosystems, particularly thermal tolerance, ocean acidification, and habitat degradation effects on fish and elasmobranch species. She holds a PhD in Zoology from the University of British Columbia and completed postdoctoral work at the City University of Hong Kong.
Her work integrates physiology, ecology, and conservation, addressing topics such as metabolic performance under stress, behavioral thermoregulation, and the physiological mechanisms enabling species survival in changing environments.
