Jodie A. Baird is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology and Director of the Child and Family Studies Minor at Bryn Mawr College. She teaches in the Psychology Department and oversees student praxis placements and research at the Phebe Anna Thorne School, Bryn Mawr’s laboratory school. Her work focuses on young children’s social cognition, including moral reasoning and understanding of social categories like gender and race.
Dr. Baird holds a B.A. from Stanford University and a Ph.D. from the University of Oregon. Her research has been supported by grants from the National Science Foundation, National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, and Spencer Foundation. She coordinates interdisciplinary initiatives bridging psychology, education, and family studies through her role in the minor program and laboratory school.
