Jodi Staniunas Hopper is Dean of the School of the Arts and an Associate Professor of Art at Mercyhurst University, serving as Chair of the Art Department for 6 years. She holds a B.A. in Art/Graphic Design from Mercyhurst University and an M.F.A. in Design and Advertising from Marywood University. Her expertise spans graphic design, web design, and branding, with teaching roles in Computer Design Basics, Vector Illustration, and Design History.
Her career includes roles as Art Director at WQLN (Erie, PA), National Public Radio (Washington, D.C.), and web designer at Cyberink-lp. She has maintained a parallel creative practice, exhibiting fine art for over a decade and recently merging costume design with photography. She is author of the upcoming book Learning Vector Illustration with Adobe Illustrator (Amazon).
Ms. Hopper oversees the Mercyhurst Art Department’s Graphic Design Program, expanding its curriculum to include website development. She advises students on internships, course selection, and career pathways. Her leadership focuses on integrating technology and tradition in design education.
