Jochen Schellinger

Prof. Dr. Jochen Schellinger serves as Vice Rector for Teaching at Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH), a position he has held since 2022. He previously served as Program Director for the MSc Business Administration program from 2008 to 2021 while teaching courses in Strategic Management, Human Resource Management, Organization, and Marketing. As Vice Rector, he oversees all teaching-related matters across the institution and chairs both the Teaching Commission and Continuing Education Commission at BFH.

Prof. Schellinger's educational background includes a Diplom-Kaufmann from Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen and Universität des Saarlandes (1989-1995) and a Dr. rer. pol. from Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen (1996-2003). Prior to his academic career, he held positions at Daimler AG and DaimlerChrysler AG in personnel management and eHRM.

His research focuses on Strategic Management, Human Resource Management, Organizational Development, and Digital Business Transformation. Recent work examines organizational resilience, agile HR practices, digital transformation in business contexts, and Grademix (staff qualification mix) in long-term care facilities. His publications reveal a consistent thread connecting theoretical frameworks with practical implementation challenges in business organizations.

Prof. Schellinger has co-edited multiple influential volumes on digital business transformation and organizational development, including 'Resilienz durch Organisationsentwicklung' (2022), 'Digital Business: Analysen und Handlungsfelder in der Praxis' (2021), and 'Digitale Transformation und Unternehmensführung' (2020). His recent articles demonstrate increasing focus on practical applications of digital transformation across various sectors.

As Vice Rector for Teaching, Prof. Schellinger leads strategic educational initiatives across BFH while maintaining active research engagement. His administrative leadership complements his scholarly work on educational management and university development, creating a synergistic relationship between his practical responsibilities and research interests.
