معرفی
Professor Jochen Hampe is a faculty member at the Technical University of Dresden, where he leads research in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus. His work bridges clinical gastroenterology with advanced genomic science to unravel the molecular basis of digestive diseases.
His research portfolio spans critical areas including:
- Genetic susceptibility to inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease)
- Genome-wide association studies for gallstone and diverticular diseases
- Molecular mechanisms in colorectal carcinoma
- Hepatocyte genealogy and liver regeneration dynamics
- Epigenomic drivers of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD)
Professor Hampe has secured continuous DFG funding since at least 2018, with seven completed In-kind grant projects and three ongoing initiatives including Transregional Collaborative Research Centre projects. His current leadership roles encompass sub-project management for MASLD epigenomics and joint responsibility for membrane systems research.
His scientific impact stems from translating genomic discoveries into biological insights for gastrointestinal pathologies, with particular emphasis on bridging population genetics with molecular pathophysiology in liver and bowel disorders.
