Prof. Jochen Gönsch is a full professor at the University Duisburg-Essen, leading the Service Operations department within the Faculty of Management Science and Mathematics. His expertise spans operations research, revenue management, and logistics. He completed his PhD at the University of Augsburg in 2010 and earned his Habilitation there in 2015. He has collaborated with companies like Daimler and Lufthansa, applying quantitative methods to solve service-sector challenges. His research emphasizes risk-averse optimization, dynamic pricing, and mobility systems, addressing issues like remanufacturing and renewable energy. He received the Logistics Science Award from BVL and co-founded the GOR Analytics working group.
Teaching focuses on analytical methods for service operations, integrating practical relevance with active learning.
