Prof. Hans-Dieter Kochs holds the Chair of Information Logistics at the University of Duisburg-Essen since 1991. His expertise bridges computer science, engineering, and medical technology, focusing on reliable systems for monitoring, automation, and mechatronics.
Education: Studied and earned his Ph.D. at RWTH Aachen as a Cusanus Scholar. Professional Experience: Previously held senior roles at AEG/Daimler, FAG-Kugelfischer, and ESWE before transitioning to academia.
Research Interests: Develops interdisciplinary solutions in energy logistics, medical monitoring systems, and mechatronic reliability. Key areas include:
- Dependability modeling of nano- and mechatronic systems
- Information systems for industrial maintenance and energy optimization
- Knowledge-based signal analysis for anesthesia monitoring
Teaching: Offers courses like Object-Oriented Software Engineering, Reliability in Mechatronics, and Internet Technology for Engineers.
