Jochem Jansen is a researcher at the European Tourism Futures Institute (ETFI) and has previously worked as a senior lecturer, curriculum developer, and program manager for the Leisure and Events Management program at NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in International Tourism Management and a Master of Arts in International Leisure and Tourism Studies. Currently, he is pursuing a Professional Doctorate in Future Studies, focusing on participatory processes in spatial development for leisure and tourism.
Jochem's research interests span sustainability, placemaking, strategic management, and the societal impact of leisure, tourism, and events. His work emphasizes the intersection of these fields with spatial development and participatory governance.
