Jocelyn Bell is Assistant Professor of Sociology at Bryant University's Politics, Law, and Society department. An interdisciplinary sociologist, she examines collective action for social justice through frameworks of critical race theory and cultural political sociology.
Her research investigates transnational social movements, anti-racist organizing, and state-civil society dynamics. Current projects analyze conflict resolution within anti-sex trafficking networks in India and global Black Lives Matter activism.
Teaching focuses on community-engaged innovation, critical political engagement, and social movement theory. Bell holds a PhD and MA from Brown University, and MA from University of Kentucky.
