Joanne Sohn

Joanne Sohn is a Professor in the Department of Animal & Veterinary Science at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona), within the Huntley College of Agriculture. She holds a DVM from Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine, a MPH from UC Davis, and an English degree from UC Berkeley.

Her research interests focus on experiential veterinary education, international veterinary programs, and advancing teaching methodologies. As former director of the Animal Health Science program (2014-2022), she pioneered hands-on learning initiatives and secured grants to modernize the veterinary teaching lab. She has organized student travel programs to Thailand and South Africa.
