Joanne Sheu

Dr. Joanne Sheu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at Yale School of Medicine. She specializes in patient-centered gynecologic care, medical/surgical management of conditions like fibroids and abnormal uterine bleeding, and minimally invasive gynecological surgery. Her research focuses on HPV-related cervical disease and cervical cancer screening. She holds dual Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Texas at Austin (Human Biology & Psychology), a Doctor of Medicine from UT Southwestern Medical School, and a Master’s in Public Health in Biostatistics from SUNY Downstate. Dr. Sheu is board-certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology and actively involved in clinical education for residents and medical students.

Her professional memberships include the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Society for Academic Specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. Awards include the Robert C. Knapp, MD Scholarship Award and SGO Outstanding Resident in Gynecologic Oncology. She emphasizes patient education and open communication to empower healthcare decisions across all life stages.
