Joanne Dudeney is a Research Fellow at Macquarie University's School of Psychological Sciences and an Honorary Clinical Psychologist at Sydney Children's Hospital Network. Her dual role combines academic research at the Lifespan Health and Wellbeing Research Centre with clinical practice. Dr. Dudeney collaborates internationally with UK and US research teams and works closely with hospital departments including Pain & Palliative Care and Gastroenterology.
- Previously held a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Seattle Children’s Research Institute (USA)
- Clinical experience in Australian public hospitals and private settings
Research focuses on mental/physical health comorbidities in childhood development and improving access to psychological care for youth with chronic conditions through digital interventions. Key interests include remote psychological therapies, chronic pain management, and systematic reviews on anxiety/depression comorbidities.
Teaching includes guest lectures on eMentalHealth, chronic pediatric pain, and rheumatoid arthritis in clinical psychology programs. Led a major 2019-2023 project on adolescent pain management funded by Macquarie University.
