Joanna Napieralska is a full Professor at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music (FCUM) in Warsaw, where she serves in the Sound Engineering Department. She is an alumna of the same institution, graduating from its Sound Engineering program before joining as faculty. Her academic journey includes foundational education at FCUM (formerly Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music) and specialized training through international scholarships.
Her research explores the intersection of technology and art, with core interests in:
- Cinematic sound design and narrative audio techniques
- Multisensory integration in digital media
- Aesthetic principles of acoustic environments
- Evolution of sound engineering methodologies
Napieralska has received notable recognition including the BBC TV Center Scholarship (1989) and Nipkow Programme Scholarship in Berlin (2002/2003), along with industry awards for sound production. She maintains active affiliations with:
