Joana Pais

Joana Pais serves as Vice-President for Research at ISEG (Lisbon School of Economics & Management) and holds the academic rank of Professor of Economics. She coordinates the XLAB-Behavioural Research Lab and the Portuguese consortium PASSDA's data archive. Her affiliations include REM-Research in Economics and Mathematics, where she focuses on game theory, market design, experimental economics, and behavioral economics. She leads the Foundation for Science and Technology-funded project on labor market perceptions and anti-discrimination policies.

Her recent projects address societal challenges such as choice overload in school admissions and the impact of non-egoistic behavior in lobbying contexts.
