Joana Morêdo Pereira

Joana Morêdo Pereira is a lecturer in Deaf Studies at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal and a researcher at the Research Centre for Communication and Culture (CECC). She holds a PhD in Intercultural Studies - Deaf Studies from University College London (UCL) and has been awarded multiple distinctions, including the Fulbright Award and PhD International Fellowship.

Research Interests: Her work focuses on Deaf Culture Studies, particularly the preservation of Portuguese Deaf Culture through interdisciplinary collaboration with Performance Studies.
