Joana Meirim

Joana Meirim is a Visiting Assistant Professor at NOVA FCSH and a researcher at the Institute for the Study of Literature and Tradition (IELT). She holds a Ph.D. in Literary Theory from the University of Lisbon, focusing on Jorge de Sena and Alexandre O’Neill.

Her research centers on Portuguese literature, particularly modernist poetry, critical theory, and literary education. She has edited key works by Alexandre O’Neill and co-edited essays on Jorge de Sena, reflecting her expertise in textual criticism and cultural studies.

Her recent publications span Portuguese poetry anthologies, literary criticism, and digital humanities projects. Themes include 20th-century Portuguese modernism, authorial biography, and pedagogical approaches to literature.

Scientific Awards:

• INCM/Vasco Graça Moura Prize for Best Essay in the Humanities (2022)

She has supervised academic work, including the thesis of Roberto Filipe Assis Simões (2024), and contributed to editorial projects like Jogos Florais and Portuguese Literary & Cultural Studies.
