Joana Hyatt

Joana Hyatt is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Art Education at the University of Florida. A K-16 educator with over 20 years of experience, her research emphasizes critical pedagogy, arts-based methodologies, and curriculum design. She was honored as the 2018 Outstanding Art Educator (Higher Education) by the Texas Art Education Association.

Publications include articles in Art Education and the Journal of Social Theory in Art Education, and a chapter in Ma: Materiality in Teaching and Learning. She chairs the NAEA Research Commission's Professional Learning through Research group and serves on the editorial board for Art Education.
