Joan Ramon Resina

Joan Ramon Resina is a Professor at Stanford University in both the Department of Iberian and Latin American Cultures and the Department of Comparative Literature. He serves as Director of the Iberian Studies Program under the Freeman Spogli Institute.

Research interests include Catalan cultural studies, modernism, historical memory, philosophy of language, and urban modernity. His work interrogates the intersections of literature with political and cultural transformation.

Recent publications focus on Iberian transnationalism, the Catalan independence movement, and Visconti’s cinematic philosophy. These works span interdisciplinary methodologies in cultural critique and historical analysis.

Scientific awards include prestigious Alexander von Humboldt and Fulbright fellowships, reflecting his international scholarly recognition.
