Joan Leach

Professor Joan Leach is the Director of the Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science (CPAS) at the Australian National University (ANU). She holds a Professorial academic rank and has held leadership roles including past president of Australian Science Communicators and founding member of the American Association for the Rhetoric of Science and Technology (AAARTS). Her research focuses on science communication, ethical dimensions of scientific discourse, and the societal impacts of emerging technologies such as quantum science and synthetic biology. She has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Purdue University Science Laureateship for contributions to public engagement with science.
