Joan Groessl

Joan Groessl is a Professor and Director of Social Work Professional Programs at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, affiliated with the College of Health, Education and Social Welfare. She serves as a key academic leader in the graduate social work program, drawing on extensive professional experience in mental health services, administration, and social work education.

• Education: PhD in Leadership Studies from Marian University; MSW from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Her research focuses on ethics, leadership dynamics, organizational culture, and interdisciplinary collaboration in social work. She actively contributes to professional leadership as chair of the Continuing Education Committee and through external roles, including serving as a former President of the Wisconsin Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers and President of the Board of the Algoma Medical Center and Long Term Care Unit.
