Joachim Meyer is the Celia and Marcos Maus Professor for Data Sciences at the Department of Industrial Engineering, Tel Aviv University (TAU). He joined TAU in 2012 and previously served as department chair from 2015 to 2019. His research focuses on human decision modeling in intelligent systems, decision support systems, and data sciences applied to medicine, transportation, computer security, and managerial decision-making.

His research spans abstract models and laboratory studies, with applications in human-machine systems, automation interaction, and information presentation. He has contributed extensively to human factors and ergonomics.

As an active advisor, he has supervised over 50 M.Sc. theses and 17 Ph.D. dissertations. He founded the Cognitive Engineering Laboratory at Ben-Gurion University and established the Interacting with Technology (IwiT) Laboratory at TAU.
