Joachim Kopp is a Professor for Theoretical Elementary Particle Physics at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, currently on leave of absence at CERN. His research focuses on dark matter, collider physics, neutrino physics, and theories beyond the Standard Model, emphasizing phenomenological implications for experiments. He leads the PhenoCOND group, specializing in collider, neutrino, and dark matter studies.
Research Interests:
- Dark matter detection and theoretical models
- Neutrino oscillations and scattering
- Collider physics at the LHC and beyond
- Primordial black holes and cosmological phase transitions
Group & Teaching:
- Supervises PhD students (Lisa Michaels, Lukas Mittnacht) and Master's student Moritz Breitbach
