Joachim Jungherr

Joachim Jungherr is a Post-doc Researcher at the Institute for Macroeconomics and Econometrics, Department of Economics, University of Bonn, Germany. He was previously a Post-doc at the Institut d'Anàlisi Econòmica (IAE-CSIC), MOVE, and an Affiliated Professor at the Barcelona School of Economics, Spain. He holds a PhD from the European University Institute, Florence, Italy.

His research focuses on macroeconomics and financial economics, particularly on firm debt maturity, financial frictions, monetary policy, and financial crises. He develops dynamic models incorporating heterogeneous firms, long-term debt, and financial frictions to study business cycles, investment dynamics, and policy implications.

The recent working papers and publications reveal a strong trend in analyzing how debt maturity structure affects monetary policy transmission, firm investment, and macroeconomic stability. His work combines empirical evidence with theoretical modeling in New Keynesian and dynamic general equilibrium frameworks, contributing to the understanding of financial frictions in macroeconomic dynamics.
