JoNel Newman is a Professor of Law and Associate Dean for Experiential Learning at the University of Miami's School of Law. She leads the Health Rights Clinic and chairs the UM Faculty Senate and General Welfare Committee. Her work focuses on clinical legal education, human rights, poverty law, and interdisciplinary healthcare advocacy.
Research interests include legal pedagogy, client empowerment in disability cases, and disaster response frameworks.
