Dr Jo Caffery is an Associate Professor in Teacher and Community Education at the University of Canberra's Faculty of Education. She holds a UNESCO International Research Fellowship, focusing on gender equality, linguistic diversity, and Indigenous education. Her work emphasizes culturally relevant methodologies in remote regions of Australia, Timor-Leste, PNG, and Pakistan. She leads UC CIRI, an initiative fostering Indigenous community advantage through multidisciplinary research.
Her research spans gender frameworks for development projects, including ACIAR's Gender Guidelines, and explores barriers/enablers for youth in PNG's agricultural sector.
