Dr. Vissoci's research focuses on leveraging data analytics and mixed-methods research to address healthcare access disparities, particularly through technology-enabled solutions. His global mental health work emphasizes daily activity-based interventions for mental health reintegration, while his population health research spans Brazil (health systems and quality of care) and East Africa (traumatic brain injury, mental health, and technology integration).
Recent publications highlight his interdisciplinary approach: neuroimaging studies on substance use disorders, cross-cultural validation of mental health screening tools, epidemiological analysis of post-COVID symptoms, and implementation science frameworks for equitable healthcare delivery in resource-constrained environments.
Dr. Vissoci teaches graduate courses in global health at Duke, including Global Injury and Prevention, Implementation Science, and Grant Writing. He actively contributes to the Division of Translational Health Sciences within Duke's Department of Emergency Medicine.
