Jize Jiang is a postdoctoral researcher affiliated with the Professorship for Sustainable Agroecosystems at ETH Zurich. He focuses on understanding nitrogen cycling in Earth systems, particularly reactive nitrogen species' behavior under climate change and their environmental impacts. His work integrates process-based modeling with policy engagement to address global environmental challenges.
He holds a PhD in Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences from the University of Edinburgh (2019-2023), preceded by a BSc in Geochemistry from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) and multiple degrees in Environmental GeoSciences from the University of Edinburgh.
His research emphasizes quantifying ammonia (NH₃) and nitrous oxide (N₂O) emissions, developing models like AMCLIM to simulate agricultural emissions under climate scenarios. Current work assesses Swiss land ecosystems' nitrogen cycling and N₂O emissions, with an eye toward informing sustainable solutions for environmental change.
His scientific contributions bridge academia and policy, aiming to provide actionable insights for mitigating nitrogen pollution and climate impacts through interdisciplinary approaches.
