Dr. Jinyu Hu is an Associate Professor of Management at the University of Nevada, Reno. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Texas Tech University (2016). His research specializes in leadership and organizational justice, examining how perceptions, self-concepts, and social identity influence motivation and interpersonal outcomes in organizational settings.
His research interests span leadership dynamics, organizational justice frameworks, social identity processes, and the psychological mechanisms underlying workplace motivation and interpersonal relationships. He investigates how individual traits like narcissism interact with organizational structures to influence behavior.
Professor Hu's publications demonstrate a consistent focus on leadership paradoxes, organizational justice, and identity regulation. His work integrates social cognition with organizational behavior, frequently employing meta-analytic and theoretical modeling approaches to examine charismatic leadership, narcissism in professional contexts, and the impact of digital transformations on work behaviors.
He teaches courses including Leadership and Team Building (MGT 423/623), Leadership and Ethics, Organizational Behavior, and International Management.
