Jinwu Wang

Dr. Jinwu Wang is a Research Forest Products Technologist at the USDA Forest Service – Forest Products Laboratory (Madison, WI) and serves as a Faculty Associate and External Graduate Faculty in the School of Forest Resources at the University of Maine. His research focuses on cellulose nanomaterials, engineered composites science, and bio-based chemicals and products. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Washington State University, an M.S. in Wood Science and Technology from UC Berkeley, and a B.S. in Wood Processing and Technology from Nanjing Forestry University.

Dr. Wang’s work integrates advanced materials science with sustainable biomass utilization, emphasizing innovations in composites, nanomaterials, and bio-based product development. His recent publications address topics such as cellulose nanocrystals from bio-ethanol residuals, wood ultrastructure optimization for enzymatic hydrolysis, and energy-efficient biomass processing.
