معرفی
Associate Professor Jinlong Gao is part of the Sydney Dental School within the Faculty of Medicine and Health at The University of Sydney. He holds dual roles as an academic educator and researcher. His expertise spans oral biosciences, with a focus on antimicrobial strategies targeting periodontal pathogens like Porphyromonas gingivalis, and innovations in molecular pathogen detection. He leads research projects involving vibrational spectroscopy and extracellular metabolite analysis for disease prediction.
Education: B.D.S. from Sun Yat-sen University (2007), Ph.D. from The University of Sydney (2011). Postdoctoral research at the Institute of Dental Research and Westmead Centre for Oral Health preceded his current position combining teaching and research.
Research Interests: Development of targeted antimicrobial toolkits, preservation of polymicrobial flora, and translational research for clinical applications. His work integrates cellular/molecular approaches, spectroscopy, and drug discovery.
Publications Highlight: Recent work explores AI applications in caries diagnosis, salivary biomarkers for periodontal diseases, and the role of P. gingivalis in colorectal and oral cancers. His articles bridge basic science with clinical practice.
- Awards: Roland Bryant Award (2017), Bela Schwartz Fellowship (2009-2011), and multiple scholarships/recognition for academic excellence.
- Grants: Funded projects include biofilm elimination strategies, implant surface engineering, and bacteriophage research.
- Collaborations: Partnerships with Sun Yat-sen University in China and institutions like the Charles Perkins Centre.
Labs/Teams: Member of The Centre for Drug Discovery Innovation and the Charles Perkins Centre, contributing to interdisciplinary research in drug development and chronic disease.
