Jingjing Wang is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of New Mexico (UNM), specializing in environmental and natural resource economics. She holds affiliations with UNM's Water Resources Program as Associate Director, the Sustainability Studies Program, and the Center for Water and the Environment. Her research focuses on public policy's role in internalizing externalities and optimizing resource allocation across environmental, agricultural, and water contexts. She employs integrated modeling, dynamic control, and econometrics to address real-world challenges.
Dr. Wang earned a B.E. in Environmental Engineering from Tsinghua University, an M.S. in Environmental Science, and a Ph.D. in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics from the University of California, Riverside. Her teaching interests include microeconomics, natural resource economics, and mathematical methods in economics.
Her research emphasizes water economics, nutrient management, renewable energy, and climate change. Key projects include urban water conservation, livestock manure management, nitrogen management in arid ecosystems, and integrated modeling frameworks. She collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and contributes to policy analysis via affiliations with the Science Impact Laboratory for Policy and Economics (SILPE) and the Water Resources Program.
