معرفی
Jinghao Cao is a von Karman Instructor in Computing and Mathematical Sciences at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), mentored by Professor Oscar Bruno. His research focuses on numerical methods and analysis of partial differential equations (PDEs), particularly in metamaterials and wave physics. Before joining Caltech in 2024, he earned his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from ETH Zurich in 2024 under Professors Habib Ammari and Alessio Figalli, with a B.S. and M.S. from ETH Zurich (2017–2021), including a year abroad at Imperial College London (2019–2020).
His academic journey includes significant contributions to mathematical foundations of non-Hermitian systems, time-modulated metamaterials, and subwavelength resonators. He has presented at major conferences such as WAVES Berlin 2024 and the British Applied Mathematics Colloquium 2024, focusing on topics like symmetry breaking in subwavelength physics and nonreciprocal wave propagation.
Proficient in Chinese, English, and German, Cao collaborates internationally and actively engages in academic discourse through invited talks and workshops. His work bridges theoretical analysis and practical applications in computational mathematics and materials science.
