معرفی
Jinghao Cao is a von Karman Instructor in Computing and Mathematical Sciences at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), mentored by Professor Oscar Bruno. He holds a doctoral degree in Applied Mathematics from ETH Zurich (2024), supervised by Professors Habib Ammari and Alessio Figalli. His research focuses on numerical methods and analysis of partial differential equations (PDEs), with applications in metamaterials, wave propagation, and non-Hermitian systems.
Education: B.S. and M.S. in Mathematics (2017–2021, ETH Zurich) with a year of study at Imperial College London (2019–2020). Fluent in Chinese, English, and German.
Research interests include mathematical foundations of non-Hermitian phenomena, subwavelength resonance dynamics, and time-modulated metamaterials. His work bridges computational methods with theoretical analysis, addressing challenges in wave scattering, transmission properties, and edge mode behavior in complex systems.
Key contributions include studies on the non-Hermitian skin effect, time-dependent metamaterials, and unidirectional wave propagation. His publications appear in journals like Archive for Rational Mechanics and Analysis and Proceedings of the Royal Society A.
Active in academic engagement, he has presented at conferences such as the WAVES Berlin (2024) and the British Applied Mathematics Colloquium (2024). His research aligns with emerging trends in computational mathematics and applied physics.
