Jingguang Chen is the Thayer Lindsley Professor of Chemical Engineering at Columbia University and Senior Chemist at Brookhaven National Laboratory. His research focuses on catalysis for sustainable energy conversion, bridging atomic-scale understanding with industrial applications through tandem catalytic systems.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, University of Pittsburgh (1988)
- Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellow (1988–1989)
- B.S. in Chemistry, Nanjing University (1982)
Research Interests: Dr. Chen specializes in metal carbides, bimetallic alloys, and tandem catalytic systems for CO2 conversion, electrocatalysis, and plasma-catalysis. His work addresses challenges in renewable energy storage, carbon sequestration, and cost-effective catalyst design.
