Jingchao Jiang

Dr. Jingchao Jiang is a Lecturer in Production and Manufacturing Systems in the Department of Engineering at the University of Exeter, UK. He holds a PhD from the University of Auckland and was previously a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His academic work bridges advanced manufacturing, sustainability, and artificial intelligence.

His research focuses on additive manufacturing, including 3D and 4D printing, bioprinting, and concrete 3D printing, with a strong emphasis on sustainable manufacturing and the integration of AI and machine learning in industrial systems. His expertise spans materials engineering, robotics, and smart manufacturing technologies.

Dr. Jiang actively contributes to the academic community as an Associate Editor for the International Journal on Interactive Design and Manufacturing and serves on the editorial boards of several high-impact journals including International Journal of Precision Engineering and Manufacturing-Green Technology, International Journal of Bioprinting, and Materials Science in Additive Manufacturing. He has also guest-edited special issues for journals such as Thermal Science and Engineering Progress and Sustainability.

He has been recognized as a World's Top 2% Scientist by Elsevier and Stanford University in 2022, 2023, and 2024, and received the JMMP 2023 Travel Award and multiple reviewer excellence awards from Publons. He is a panel member of EPSRC grants and a reviewer for over 80 international journals, including Nature Communications and Advanced Materials.

His research team is actively engaged in projects related to digital twins for 3D printing, recycled materials for additive manufacturing, AI-driven design of sustainable cementitious materials, and robotics in sustainable manufacturing, reflecting a strong interdisciplinary and future-oriented approach.
