Jing Zhao

Jing Zhao is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sound Design and Engineering at the School of Theatre and Dance, University of Florida. He holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Theatre Sound Design and Composition from Purdue University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (First-Class Honors) from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

His expertise spans sound design, music composition, and audio engineering for theatre, television, and film. He has conducted audio R&D at Panasonic, worked as a sound designer at MediaCorp Singapore, and contributed to inventory systems at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta. His awards include the USITT's Robert E. Cohen Sound Achievement Award and the Excellence in Teaching Award from Purdue University.

Professionally, Jing has created soundscapes for international productions and is recognized for innovations in audio technology. His work spans countries such as the U.S., Singapore, China, and Turkey. His teaching emphasizes bridging artistic creativity with technical precision in sound design.
